RTE 1 Post reporter Paul Gallengard has been granted a conditional release from the Eels to return to the NRL.

He will have to complete a fitness test before his first NRL game back.
The Eels won the title of NRL’s best team last season.
Gallengard played his first game for the Eel against the Panthers on January 2 and he had a strong performance, racking up 28 touches and six tackles.
He was named the club’s Player of the Year.
Gallen was drafted in the third round by the Eids in 2016, and has made his NRL debut this season.
He is the eighth player in the club history to be released, joining fellow forwards Chris Heighington, Tom Trbojevic, Josh Papalii and Cameron Smith.
